On Friday Peter Keers was awarded an honorary life member certificate and it couldn’t have gone to a better suited person. Here’s what Peter had to say;
“Tonight I am very proud. The pictures are of an honour I was awarded by my club, Sedgley Park RUFC. As I have retired from reffing junior matches on a Sunday, they have made me an honorary life member at tonight’s AGM. To say this was unexpected is an understatement. I don’t really have any more words to describe how I feel about the fact that I was deemed suitable for this.
I have loved this club since the early eighties, when I first set foot in the place. To be given this award and to have so many friends shake my hand to congratulate me was quite overwhelming.
Thanks to the club, Sedgley Park RUFC. And thanks in no small way to Sedgley Park Minis – Juniors and Tony and Colette Stevens, plus so many others who I suspect were involved.”
